Allison Tant Ice Cream Social
State Representative Allison Tant — a longtime champion for the communities we serve — has chosen Survive and Thrive Advocacy Center (STAC) as the beneficiary of her annual birthday service project this year. Every year, Representative Tant marks her birthday not with gifts for herself, but by gathering people to do good together. This year, she is using that tradition to stand with and empower human trafficking survivors across the Big Bend. We are deeply honored.
Below, in her own words, Representative Tant shares what she has planned and how you can be a part of it.
“Many of you know I do a fun-filled, cake & ice cream service project for my birthday in support of a nonprofit that supports people across my legislative district. It’s my way of being with people I care about and doing some good together!
This year I have chosen Survive and Thrive Advocacy Center, which provides direct support, services, and needed personal items to victims of human trafficking across the Big Bend.
The people they serve often have urgent and very different needs — from food and clothing to transportation, safe cell phones, medication, basic personal care items, uniforms for work, and help getting around. Gift cards are especially helpful because they allow survivors to purchase what they need, when they need it.
Here are the details:
When: Sunday, July 12 | 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Where: Address provided upon RSVP
RSVP: allisontant@allisontant.com
My gift is being with you. If you are able, please bring an item or gift card from STAC’s wish list to help support the survivors they serve.
Most needed items include:
- Fast food restaurant gift cards
- Gasoline gift cards
- Walmart gift cards
- Lyft and Uber gift cards
- CVS and Walgreens gift cards
- Grocery store gift cards, including Publix, Piggly Wiggly, and ALDI
- Cellular phones, especially Straight Talk and Tracfone
- Phone service cards, including Boost Mobile, Straight Talk, and T-Mobile
- Gift cards of $20 or more are most helpful when possible.
If you are not able to attend but would still like to support STAC’s work, you can make a donation here: https://surviveandthriveadvocacy.org/donate-now
I hope you’ll stop by, share some cake and ice cream, and help me celebrate by supporting an organization doing lifesaving work right here in our community. ”
