| Empowering Communities to Know: Is it Human Trafficking\, Exploitation\, or Something Else?
\n====================== \n \nPresented entirely in Spanish\, with English subtitles\, this program is for anyone interested in learning the basics of human trafficking. Designed for the Spanish-speaking community and their allies\, presenters will provide information on how to recognize both sex and labor trafficking situations\, how to safely respond\, how to get help to those who are sex and labor trafficked\, and how to prevent human trafficking. We will equip community members with the skills needed to link vulnerable adults and children to supportive resources. Together\, we can be the eyes and ears of our community’s workforce to recognize the signs of trafficking and take action. \nWho Should Attend: \nThis program is focused on educating and empowering everyone\, including those in workplaces of all kinds (agriculture\, hospitality\, construction\, and other services)\, faith communities\, social services\, non-profit organizations\, neighborhood groups\, parents\, students\, teachers\, the justice system\, healthcare\, and everyone\, so they can understand how to spot sex or labor trafficking situations and take action. \nTopics and examples will focus on the Latino community\, who might be at risk of trafficking\, and those who might be able to provide resources or educate others. We welcome community members who may encounter or support victims and survivors of sex and labor trafficking and who want an initial training session to learn what human trafficking is\, understand traffickers’ tactics\, gain insights into victims’ and survivors’ responses and needs\, and how to support victims and survivors. \nBios: \n \nVania Aguilar\, Ed.D.
