DESCRIPTION:We invite you to come out to this important event where STAC will have an information table as well as STAC Board member\, Dr. Cicely Brantley will be speaking on human trafficking and what we resources STAC can provide. \nDivine Revelations Ministries\, Inc. (DRMI) is excited and honored to host the First  Annual Frenchtown Renaissance event on Saturday\, May 14\, 2022\, from 12 noon to 6 pm in the community of Frenchtown\, near the Carter Howell Strong Park (500-598  N. Copeland St.\, Tallahassee\, FL 32301).  \nThis unique event addresses the health and wellbeing of Tallahassee neighborhoods\,  namely Frenchtown\, and has been approved by the Tallahassee Community  Redevelopment Agency under the Greater Frenchtown Southside special events grant  and is being co-sponsored by the Big Bend Area Health Education Center (AHEC).   \nWe have now entered year three of the pandemic\, and Tallahassee\, like other  communities across the country\, is enhancing recovery efforts for its citizens\, while  addressing the unique issues that each neighborhood faces. As you are probably  aware\, Frenchtown residents\, businesses and other stakeholders successfully  developed and advocated for the Frenchtown Neighborhood First Plan\, which is in full  implementation!   \nThe Frenchtown Renaissance is designed to ignite the mind\, elevate the body and  nourish the spirit by focusing on three (3) major areas to enhance the health\, safety and  economic stability of the Frenchtown community. The word renaissance means rebirth  or renewal\, and this event is designed to do just that. This free family-centered event is  open to the general public\, and will feature Frenchtown and local entrepreneurs\, local food vendors\, gardeners/climate specialists\, community agencies\, and potential  employers; a panel discussion – Community Conversations: Safety & Crime Prevention featuring survivors\, Assistant Sheriff Argatha Gilmore\, and other law enforcement and agencies that address these issues in our community. Headlining the music portion of  the event is Tallahassee native and Grammy Award winning songstress Kendra Foster\,  renowned trumpeter Dr. Longineu Parsons & Musicians\, songstress & actress Star  Swain\, dynamic duo Saylor Dollar\, Rebekah Hair-Stewart\, gospel artist Minister  Delarryo Dunklin\, and other locally grown talent. And let’s not forget\, fun activities for kids.   \nOur goal is to empower citizens through awareness\, education and experiential  learning\, to take action in rebounding from the pandemic and its impact; and to just  come out to fellowship with neighbors and friends in one of the most culturally rich  historic neighborhoods in Tallahassee.   \nDRMI is a nonprofit 501c3 charitable organization with a mission to help all people to  live more enriching lives. We accomplish our mission by offering secular (non-religious)  programming\, including bridging the generational and digital divide between youth and seniors through our renowned Geeks & Gramps Program (co-sponsored by the RRF  Foundation for Aging); providing anger management\, substance abuse/misuse\, and  other human/emotional development programs behind the prison walls and to returning citizens in six counties; and by providing emergency support to those in need.  \nWe understand that as we collaborate and partner with other community organizations\,  we help to build capacity\, which helps us all to help individuals in our communities to  live more productive\, fulfilled and enriched lives.   \nDRMI is a 501c3 charitable organization and contributions are tax deductible.
